Accessibility statement
Site Unseen wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, screen magnification, voice control or only a keyboard.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
How we test this site
- Automated testing with axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine by Deque Systems.
- Keyboard checks: every link and button can be reached with the Tab key and shows a visible outline.
- Checks at 200 percent and 400 percent zoom, and on phone-size screens, with no sideways scrolling.
- Checks in both light and dark color modes.
What we did
- Text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.
- Large text and high-contrast colors, in light and dark modes.
- A "Skip to main content" link and clear headings on every page.
- Links are underlined and make sense on their own.
- The braille and the margin notes about what a screen reader says are decoration. Screen readers skip them, and you can turn the notes off.
- The short animation on the home page only plays if your device allows motion.
- No pop-ups, no auto-playing audio or video, and no overlay widgets.
